Dr. Roger L. Crumley is a graduate of the University of Iowa
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Residency Training
Program. Following graduation (1975) he joined the faculty
of the University of California, San Francisco where he
progressed to the level of Clinical Professor of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. His research in
laryngeal reinnervation earned him the Harris P Mosher Award
from the Triological Society in 1981. In October 1987 he
accepted the position of Professor & Chief of Division of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCI Medical Center.
and started the Department’s very successful fellowship training
program in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
His clinical interests
include facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with
emphasis on face lift, blepharoplasty, facial contouring and rhinoplasty.
He has given many scientific and surgical presentations in the U.S.,
Mexico, Europe, and Australia regarding rhinoplasty and other aspects of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Crumley was elected
President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery in 1994. He was the
Vice-President of the Western Section of the Triological
Society for 2000 –2001 and President of the Triological
Society for 2002-2003. He added further distinction to UC
Irvine’s School of Medicine by being the only West Coast
academic chairman represented on the American Board of
Otolaryngology (ABOto) for a number of years, finishing his term with that Board
in 2004. Additionally, he continues to actively serve on
numerous committees, both inside and outside the
University.
In 2001 Dr. Crumley was
nominated by University HealthSystem Consortium to become a
member of the Group Practice Council Steering Committee. He
received the F. Mark Rafaty Award from American Academy of
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for his
outstanding contributions to facial plastic and
reconstructive surgery. He also received the Honor Award
from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck
Surgery for his outstanding volunteer contributions to the
Academy and its Foundation. Dr. Crumley was listed in
Marquis’ “Who’s Who in America, 58th
edition, 2003”, and “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare,
5th Edition”. He lives in North Tustin with his wife
and two teenage daughters.
