Hamid Djalilian M.D.Hamid Djalilian, M.D. is board-certified and fellowship trained in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery. In addition to routine conditions of the ear, Dr. Djalilian's areas of expertise include complex ear surgery, hearing loss, balance disorders, facial nerve paralysis, and skull base surgery.

He received his medical degree with honors from the University of Minnesota and completed his Otolaryngology residency at the same institution. He completed his fellowship training at the Minnesota Ear, Head & Neck Clinic and the University of Minnesota. Prior to UC Irvine, he was on the faculty at the University of Illinois, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and UCLA.

He has published numerous articles and lectured widely on these subjects. In addition to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Djalilian conducts research in several areas related to cochlear implants, acoustic neuroma, and chronic ear disease. Dr. Djalilian has developed several innovative devices for the treatment of hearing loss, imbalance, and tinnitus which are undergoing clinical trials.

He has developed new procedures for treating complex ear, facial nerve, and skull base disorders. In addition to patients from all over the California, in the past year, patients from all states in the Western U.S. and the Midwest as well as some states in the East Coast have sought treatment with Dr. Djalilian. Dr. Djalilian also teaches medical students and residents.
